These beautiful juniper wood buttons are cut from the dead branches of the western juniper tree. The western juniper grows from Canada to Mexico. Where I live is the northern extreme of the trees' growing range thus our local juniper grows very slow. A two inch round branch can attain an age of 50 to 60 years. This causes the annular (growth) ring to be very tight causing the wood to be quite robust in structure. The spectrum of colors can be intense with from deep purples to bright red with a amber to white outer cambia (layer).

If you are looking to accessorize your weaving, sewing, handbag or any one of your fibre art projects these buttons would look fantastic.

Sealed with natural tung oil and then buffed with carnuba and organic beeswax.

Wooda Cooda is much more than buttons. Please check out my other selections in the Wooda Cooda wood shop by clicking the link below.

Six Juniper wood buttons made in British Columbia, Canada. 2 3/4" in diameter..scarves, cowls or just about any fibre art project.
