Glossy dark pink "Confetti" serving platter from Boontonware's Belle line of the 1950s. This large oval tray measures 14½" long by 10¼" and is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or discoloration. The serving platter has retained its luster, and has few utensil marks. It is marked Made in Boonton, N.J., U.S.A 606-14½.

If you are not familiar with Boontonware, it's like the Cadillac of mid-century melamine: crazy mod, heavy duty and originally designed for use by the U.S. military. Produced in Boonton, NJ, it rose to great popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, and is quite collectible today. Confetti or speckled pieces are particularly rare to find.
