180/20% superwash Merino / Nylon 2-ply fingering 400yds/100g

Hubble Space Telescope image that inspired this colorway:

As Albert Einstein developed his theory of general relativity nearly a century ago, he proposed that the gravitational field from massive objects could dramatically warp space and deflect light. The optical illusion created by this effect is called gravitational lensing. It is nature's equivalent of having a giant magnifying lens in space that distorts and amplifies the light of more distant objects. And, we now know that he was right. The ring of light produced when two galaxies are almost perfectly aligned, one behind the other, has been named in his honor - the Einstein Ring.

The thin blue bull's-eye pattern in this Hubble Space Telescope image appears to float over the oasis of light in the center. The light eminates from a giant elliptical galaxy roughly 2 to 4 billion light-years away. The bull's-eye pattern is an Einstein ring, created as the light from a galaxy twice as far away is distorted into circular shape by the gravity of the nearer galaxy.

About this yarn:

Springy and plush, Stargazer’s firm twist creates a durable sock yarn, with nylon added for extra strength. This versatile 2-ply yarn is also brilliant for cherished tees, shawls, and scarves. The colorful plies plump against one another, catching the light like stars in the sky.

While this yarn is machine washable in cold water, hand washing can extend the life of the garment. Lay flat to dry.

This item is multi-colored in navy and yellow tones with white highlights on a black backdrop. This listing is for one 100g skein in the colorway shown in the pictures. The skein is shown before and after re-skeining, so you can have a better idea of how it will look knitted/crocheted. I take pictures that represent the color/texture of the item as accurately as I can. Please remember that monitors vary in how they render colors. If you have any questions, I welcome your conversation.

All my yarns are hand-dyed one at a time, using high-quality, professional dyes in a non-smoking, pet-free home.
