this magnificent corona no. 4 typewriter is a great piece of decor - some keys are sticky, so i'm not selling it as a working piece, although if you're handy you may be able to get everything moving. make a great prop or vintage decor as well.

the serial number is 6PO2729, which identifies it as being made in November-December 1929, and it was the 2,729 machine to be made in those months.

comes with navy blue wooden tray that it attaches to (see last photo)

{history of the corona no. 4 typewriter}
"The typewriter that launched a thousand typists! The Corona 4 burst onto the market in 1924 as Corona's first 4-row keyboard portable that fit into a case without folding the carriage. This model was tremendously popular; Corona claimed that this portable was responsible for a huge breakthrough in typewriter sales, increasing by fifty times the individuals using typewriters. The Corona Company then underwent a merger during this machine's heyday, joining with the office machine maker L.C. Smith Bros. to eventually become Smith-Corona. The No. 4 came in many attractive colors in addition to the classic black enamel."
