A catalog of more of my vintage collection is available on request.

I fell in love with beaded jewelry in around 1942 when I was 3 years old. My mother,
sister and I lived in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mother collected marvelous African
bead work and artifacts. So off we would go to the villages with bags of beads, flour,
sugar, small round mirrors and fabric for trade. I can still see those beautiful bare
breasted women adorned with amazing colorful beaded jewelry.

This beaded jewelry was made with the ancient art of needle bead weaving. Using a
special needle, thread and a variety of stitches, glass beads are attached to other bead.
This same beading method is still used to this day (2012) by different cultures.

I often feel the dynamic enduring female link between the women of South Africa, my mother,
my sister who taught me to make beadwork, my beading students and all the women who
wear my extraordinary artful beaded jewelry, and everyone who owns a bit of African
history and maybe even you.

I encourage you to hang this beaded bracelet on your wall with small map tacks.
