[ Antique Folding Deck Chair ]

an antique folding deck chair from the late 1800's, made for the decks of passenger steamer ships. of turned maple, the chair folds down exposing a built in handle for carrying. the canvas stripe is not original but suits the chair perfectly. the chair is sturdy enough, but i would use this more for a place for luggage or blankets to land, rather than a place to sit.

made by BJ Harrison and stamped SH Morgan. B.J. Harrison Manufacturing Co. was a chair factory based in Arkville, New York at the end of the 19th century.
