Here is a vintage Hunting Dog Scene Metal Rack for your consideration that I found in the attic at an estate sale not too long ago.

After doing as much research as possible, I was not able to get a definite answer as to what this wall rack was originally designed to do.

The ideas were many as to what the rack might be used for, but no one was 100 percent certain.

Here is what others thought it could be or might be.
Pipe Holder, Duck Call Holder, Cane Holder, Dog Leash Holder, Umbrella Holder, Towel Holder, Coat Rack and so on. So as you can see it is a bit of a mystery piece of vintage hardware.

In addition, there was a suggestion made that it might be by Bradley and Hubbard but it is not marked with their stamp, so again, I am not sure who made this for figural rack.

Let me tell you what I can about this unique metal hunting scene rack.

It measures about 7 3/4 inches across and it is about 4 3/4 inches tall at the highest point.
The small circular areas where something would be held or placed each measure about 3/4 inches each.
All measurements are approximate.

I did the magnet test and it did attract a magnet so it may be cast iron but I am not certain what metal it is rendered from or if any finish was applied to it.

I believe that the dogs shown on this item are setters or maybe pointers for a nice canine figural motif.

On the back of the wall rack there are numbers embossed and they are
1658 and 2846.

On either side of the rack are two square holes, where if you can find the right hardware, you could hang or mount on a wall. Hanging hardware not included.

Please see all the pictures. I had to use different camera settings to get the detail to show up which caused it to give a lighter tone or appearance..
The color of the rack is more of a brownish color than the pictures show.
Note different computer monitors can show colors different.

The black box used to display the rack and is not part of listing being only a prop.

Rustic and ready for you to add to your home or office or lodge.
Nice, unique vintage ornamental piece to display or use for re-purposing.

This was used over the years by the previous owner and shows patina, tarnish, scratches and signs of wear. There is some verdigris and rust.

I dry dusted it off, but will let the new owner do any further cleaning or restoration if they so desire.
There are color variations on the different components of this piece.

Please see the pictures and enlarge for better detail. Pardon the glare from camera flash.
