WOW LOOK! Vintage AEM Mexican Sterling and Copper Layered Point Necklace

While this necklace is vintage it would be right in style on a runway today. It's one of the few pieces that can be worn any year with casual wear or dresses.

A beautiful example of a vintage Mexican silver and copper necklace signed AEM. The design of this piece is just stunning with the 18 linked silver sections that each have a capped pointed, acorn?, bud? pointing down and out. Three buds in the center are linked to the silver rather than being part of the panel itself so they move with you and reflect even more off the light. Each panel is approximately 1" across and 1" in length. The overall length is a comfortable 18". The weight is 67 grams or about 2.4 ounces. The necklace closes with a hook an eye and the length could be extended if you have a longer chain attached in the back.

The AEM mark is an AE within an M shaped like a heart. According to Billy Hougart's book, "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks" that AEM mark is associated with Eagle 23 and sometime Rancho Allegre or Popowski. There is I believe a DF that stand for District Federal or Mexico City. There are other marks or symbols that I can't make out. See pictures.

I have not cleaned polished this necklace. I have simply rinsed it in water and wiped dry.

This necklace will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail with tracking.
