A lullaby for adults. Original pencil drawing by Ina Mar that makes a thoughtful, affordable, original gift. Unframed, dimensions: 7.6 x 5.7 in. (19,5 x 14,5 cm).

Credits: Lullaby written in Yiddish by H. Lejwik (Lewi Halpern) , German translation by Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger

Leg den Kopf auf meine Knie,
so ist es gut liegen.
Kleine Kinder schlafen schon,
große muß man wiegen.

Kinder haben Spielzeug viel,
spielen wann sie wollen.
Große sind sich selbst zum Spiel,
müssen ewig wollen.

Translation attempt:
Lay your head on my knees - so it's laying good
Small children fall asleep - Big ones have to be cradled
Children have toys -lots of toys - they can play whenever they want.
Grown-ups are themselves, their own toys - they always have to want more.
