These 2 raku house beads measure between about 16-19mm tall x 13mm wide and about 9-10mm thick. These are partially glazed. The holes for stringing are about 1-2mm and pretty well centered. The backs are finished differently than the other three sides.

These beads are similar to those featured in Stringing Magazine, Spring 2010 and Beads2010(cover and page 38).

The raku process produces surface irregularities and can produce small chips, thermal shock lines, color transfer, pin holes and crazing. Raku produces soot most of which can be washed off, but some remains. I have washed and rinsed all beads with baking soda then filed areas that were too rough. The black coloration is absorbed into the surface of the bead and ranges in color from black to light gray. The beads can sometimes smell smoky, especially close to production, but it fades over time. All clay beads are breakable.

These beads are new and never used.

I try to ship within two days.
