Battle Mountain Turquoise / Freshwater Twin Pearl / .925 Sterling Silver
20% OFF Spring Sale
Was 159.00 ; Now 127.00

Absolutely gorgeous, super shiny triangle shaped Turquoise from the famous Battle Mountain mine in Lander County, NV. The stone is all natural and a rare green aqua blue - just stunning with the double pearl that has a subtle rainbow color.

The 19 x 19 x 21mm turquoise is domed with a high polish and is set in a contemporary fine silver bezel. The aqua color and shine looks almost like a ceramic glaze - zoom pics for detail.

The pearl is about 8mm x 18mm long with a nice organic shape to contrast the geometric Turquoise. I set the pearl on a table with a serrated fine silver bezel for balance.

Both are sitting alone on each end of the heavy sterling band with satin finish. Since it is a cuff-like design, it is slightly adjustable and very comfortable.

Fits 7.5 as shown, but can be spread out slightly - contact me for size questions.

** A certificate of authenticity for the Battle Mtn. Turquoise will accompany the ring. I purchased these personally from the heir to this legacy mine that is no longer in production.

The Blue Gem Turquoise Mine was located in the Copper Basin area southwest of Battle Mountain, Nevada. Production of this turquoise mine started about 1934 and continued until the 1970's. The mine no longer exists due to the extensive copper (and gold) mining operations.

Blue Gem Turquoise is still some of the finest turquoise ever found, and unlike most turquoise mines, (in which the majority mined is chalky and only usable if stabilized) the turquoise found there was of gem-quality.

Doc Wilson owned the Blue Gem Turquoise Mine from 1938 - 1981 when he leased it to Lee Hand. Lee Hand owned and operated the mine until 1970 when he sold his interest to the Elquist family of Battle Mountain, Nevada.

While the Blue Gem Turquoise mine was very prolific at one time, today it is considered extremely RARE, VALUABLE and COLLECTABLE turquoise. Most of the "finished" Blue Gem turquoise today is in private collections and museums, RARELY OFFERED FOR SALE.

*Note that I have been honored to purchase these finished cabochons from Jim Elquist to use in my creations like this one. He has provided documentation certifying authenticity of the stones. Gloria and Jim Elquist are the last heirs to the remaining stones from this mine and are close friends of mine located in Reno, NV. These will not last long!
