In the 1930's, Saalfield Publishing put out little 7-book box sets of books for children intended to both entertain and educate. Tagalong and Toys To Make and Play With are two books from a 1937 box set. Soft cover, 6.5 x 7.5 books, they are unpaginated but are around 10 pages long. On both books, the back illustration is identical to the front.

Tagalong is a story about a family and their dog, and drawings substitute for words in the story. Four pages have color illustrations, and the remainer are black and white. (See photos 2 and 3.)

Toys To Make and Play With is a craft book, with both color and black-and-white illustrations of fun and simple crafts for kids to make with ordinary household items. (See photos 4 and 5.)

Both books are uncommon -- Tagalong is rarely seen for sale -- and are in very good condition, especially considering their age and paperback format.

Both books show a bit of rubbing around the edges and spine, but the exteriors are clean and bright. There are no inscriptions or markings in the books, as well as no rips or tears. The staples binding the books together are holding up very well and there is only a minor bit of spotting and age-related tanning. Overall, the books are in very good condition.
