Mid century wall unit room divider walnut and steel tambour cabinets bar doors desk shelves

Fabulous mid-century era Danish Modern style wall unit or room divider, can be used either way.

The back of the pieces are as beautifully finished as the front, so it makes a stunning room divider from both directions. Or, as stated, mount it against a wall.

If you're short on wall and storage, the room divider option is an immense decorating asset.

The warm, medium-dark walnut veneer cabinets, desk and shelves are mounted, oddly, on spring loaded tension poles made of brushed steel or aluminum. They are incredibly sturdy.

Pole heights: 8 feet (when mounted between ceiling and floor. 3" to 4" longer when down)
Width: 73-1/4"
Depth of desk: 15"
Depth of sliding door cabinets, and shelves: 12"
Depth of magazine rack: 15"
Depth of planter: 6"
Desk height: 15"
Desk drop front: 13-1/2"
Cabinets heights: 12-1/2"

The drop-front desk cabinet opens to reveal pigeon holes inside for filing letters, bills, discs, etc. Two other cabinets feature gorgeous slatted sliding doors, and can be used as cocktail or bar cabinets, as well as storage.

The magazine rack fits at a slant and is footed, to keep papers, books and magazines from falling off.

Large screws go from the inside of the cabinets and the organic curved shelf brackets and into the steel poles. These were the screws with it, but I'd recommend getting new ones, a little narrower and some of them a little longer. I can't get the screws all the way in, although I have the piece solid and sturdy.

The top of the desk has one dark water ring, like from a mug. One shelf has a 3-1/2" round spot that is lighter, like it's been sanded. The bottom of the planter has come out and is gone, and it has some water stain drips on the back.

Minor scratches, stains and nicks elsewhere, but on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being best, I'd give this a solid 8.5 to 9+.

Made in either the 1950s or 1960s, it's in the best condition of any I've ever had for sale before.

It has good lines, and the ability to be configured in any way to suit your aesthetics, design or decor. These wall unit room dividers are the ultimate in useful versatility.

Shipping will be via usps parcel post or ups.
