Vintage Tiny World Globe - 1918 Tiny Terrestrial World Globe - Tin Litho Pencil Sharpener

This is an extremely hard to find item and I was lucky to come across it!! The globe done in the style of a terrestrial globe. It dates to approximately 1918 as the Russian and Chinese Empires are listed.

The pencil inserts into the gold toned bottom and turns for sharpening!! The gold toned piece is the sharpener and it removes to empty the shavings unlike others of this ear in which the globe itself seperated at the equator. The underside of this piece is signed Germany! This type of sharpener is much harder to find, therefor more desirable!!

The condition of this piece is very good to excellent! There is little to no fading of colors and minimal soiling of the globe considering its age! There are "dimples" scattered throughout the globe, most of which are in the upper hemisphere and these are not imperfections but rather a manufacturing issue. The gold base is also in very good condition. The inside of the sharpener is immaculate and I would guess that this was never used as a sharpener but rather was displayed as part of a collection!

Truly a great find and one you don't want to pass up at this price!!

As Always, ENJOY!!!
