Beautiful little antique locket dating back to the 20s or 30s. Original pictures of a man and a women, appear to be of the period or just after. The locket has a makers mark that indicates it is silver, but may have been gold plated at one time....years of love and wear have worn it down to the current patina.

My great grandmother had one similar to this. They were simple folk who made their way from Kansas to California during the dust bowl era made famous by John Steinback in The Grapes of Wrath. At a time when everyone had to leave many cherished items behind, she wore hers day and night, often rubbing it as a talisman during the terrible trip and difficult years after.

The locket is 1 inch long by 3/4 inch wide.

Antique 1930s sterling locket with original photos, simple floral etching and long gone loving couple by Good Mourning Shop
