This is true Shabby Prop Chic. A metal egg poacher that looks like the last century and at least as old as the 1920s. It has Room to poach 4 eggs. The handle is spring loaded so after they are cooked or poached in a pot of water that is underneath, you press the flap and voila! the eggs are released! Hopefully.
Because it is rusty and more a prop than food safe I have not tried this. It was a decoration from my grandmother's kitchen wall ..It was old then and she died in the 1960s. She had many quirky items that reminded her of Europ where she came from, mostly metal. i wish I had that collection now!
The handle is curved and has a loop at the end to hang up.
handle is 8" long and 1" by the hanger.
The round botton has holes pierced where each egg would be place. the whole piece is 6 3/4". The poach egg circles are 2 1/2" across and almost 1" high.
The spring is really tight and snaps closed! Watch your fingers.
since this is rusty it is not aluminum so it's a tin tool I guess.

Wonderful retro kitchen prop.

for decorative purposes only!!
