A facsimile of a drawing two birds native of Maranhao (Brazil). The illustration features two birds identified as Avapessoca and Guaraum. It was drawn by Frei Cristovao de Lisboa while he was in Brazil as a missionary (1625-1631) and was part of the manuscript "Historia dos animais e árvores de Maranhao" , published in 1967 in Lisboa, Portugal.

Drawing in pencil and covered in ink. There are some drawings in pencil that were not covered in ink. This facsimile print is from the 1967 Portuguese edition.

Size: approx. 9" by 12"

In excellent condition. It is printed on thick paper. The uneven borders and darker areas that you see are in the original drawing that is reproduced in this vintage facsimile.

This is the actual page from a 1967 book, not a reproduction.
