ISLAND BARN SALMON BENCH

Slab bench salvaged from a hundred-year-old Seattle warehouse. With mid century modern leveling hairpin legs.

by custom order

Roughsawn old growth Douglas fir planed to an interior orange-red on the top and sides only and sanded mirror smooth. Underside retains the patina of years holding a roof above the workers below.

Leveling feet on the steel hairpin legs easily spin into place to absorb variations in the floor plane, keeping the benchseat level and solidly grounded. Steel preserved with clear matte enamel.

Wood varies with each piece, but there is a commonality of tone, figure and patina.

Plank is sealed with locally produced tung oil. The steel hairpin legs are professionally produced and have plate steel bases that anchor to the benchtop with three screws.

Slab bench for this pricing is 48" long X 15.75" wide and approximately 1.75" thick. Overall height is approximately 18 inches.

For other lengths and specifications, please convo/email with details. The look and finish of this wood could easily be done as a console or coffee table.
