This is simply a beautiful piece that reflects the passage of time. I’m not going to estimate how old this is, but when you look at the underneath side of the pedestal, it looks, what can I say, other than really old. This is not someone’s faux job of making something look rusted but the real deal, made of cast iron and very heavy.

I’m not sure if this woman is English or French but she is fascinating and extremely eyecatching. From what I understand about cast iron, it is molten iron poured into a mold and this one has been beautifully done. The detail is exquisite, for example, the way the collar stands up, the ruffling of the hat on the head, the way her hair is tucked into a neat little bun at the back of her head.

Where would I put her? Well, she will project beauty and antiquity wherever she, compelling and sure to be a conversation piece. She would be a wonderful accent in a French Country bedroom, in a bookcase, presiding on a library table, on your coffee table. Anywhere you want to say, I appreciate things antiquarian, she'll help you convey that mood.

Our Lady is unique; you’re not going to see her anywhere else. At San Francisco Thingos, we (my cat assistant, Tilson) and I strive to make sure that if it’s here, you won’t find it anywhere else.
