Nautical themed (rope & anchor) vintage brass buttons are used to close this clutch wallet. A small gusseted coin purse is hand stitched to the front of the wallet off to one side. There is space behind the coin purse to tuck a couple of cards. The main gusseted compartment can hold currency, receipts, coupons or even a smartphone. It also has a single card slot which will hold two or three cards. The last compartment will hold currency, coupons or receipts.

I was hesitant to use buttons as a closure system for this type of item because of possibly slower access to the contents. But, hey, it grants you more time to show off your unique wallet and if you take long enough to get out your money someone else may meanwhile pay the bill! Really, though, it's not that hard to get into.

The brass buttons were among the things in my grandmothers sewing machine which my grandfather gave to my wife many years ago.

I kept true to the wallet's rustic style by leaving the cut edges rough and not beveled and burnished.
