A stylish 17" necklace of dusky pink coloured glassy stones from Afganistan. Most unusual style, hand set infill in a handmade setting. These are not real stones - but a good replica of a rose quartz gemstone.

This jewellery is tribal jewellery and made by hand. But there are no rough edges on the setting at all.

The setting is not silver but it is a lookalike - very nice. They call it gypsy, German or gilt silver. The traditional form of making jewelry pieces was by melting down coins so while I know it has some silver content I have no idea how much. The small brown beads inter spaced are rosewood.

The necklace was hand made by Kuchi Pashtuns a nomadic peoples in what is now Afghanistan. It's probably from the Logar region.

All of these pieces are unique and a chunk of history of a people whose lives have been threatened from every angle.

Lovely handmade Afghan Tribal Necklace. Dusky Pink/Rose glass. Hand made.
