This teapot was handmade in our pottery studio in Fairfield, CT, USA.

Its body was thrown on the wheel, as were the spout and lid, and the handle was attached later. Once it was dry, it was fired in our kiln up to a temperature of about 1800 degrees! Because we fire at such high temperatures, our pieces are very durable and not prone to chipping or breaking like so many other ceramic pieces.

After it was fired, it was hand-painted in its unique design. No two of our teapots are exactly alike, and this one is painted with a beautiful floral design, using glaze stains, or under glazes, and then covered with a transparent glaze. It is then fired again, to around 2000 degrees, which allows the colors deepen and the finish to shine.

This teapot measures 4.5 inches high, and 9.5 inches from spout to handle. It holds approximately 4 cups.

As with all our pieces, it is stoneware and therefore very durable and can be used every day without any sign of wear, as well as lovely for home decor. It is microwave and dishwasher safe, and the glazes used are lead-free.
