This is another lovely heirloom quilt from my Grandmother's estate in Kentucky. The unusual apple core design was handstitched together - I am guessing it was made around the 1940's, or earlier. The vintage fabrics are multi-colored, including a lot of blues and pastels, and are probably made from clothing, or "shirting".

Pictured on a full size (double) bed, the measurements are app. 82" X 72". Many of the apple core patches are in very good condition, but there are qute a few very worn off patches as well - as shown in the third and fourth photos. The back is in very good overall condition - each apple core was hand quilted around, but some of that stitching has come out around some of the edge areas.

Plenty of quilt to be used as a bedspread or coverlet. Cozy enough to curl up on the couch with on a fall or wintery day. Pretty enough to use for a summer picnic spread, or a decorative shabby chic couch or chair cover. Also could be used for creative craft projects - or repaired!
