Victorian Rolled Gold Book Chain.

This is a fine example of a Victorian book chain with attached pendant/clasp and drops. All in tact and the clasp works wonderfully. Small pearl in the center and the black Taille d'epergne style enamel work is in good condition with no chipping. The chain is 15 inches long. Again this is another piece that would be good for your Victorian Jewelry Collection. Age is approximately 1880's.

A bit of History:
Victorian lockets were often suspended from "book chain" necklaces and adorned with taille d'epergne style enamel work. Book chain necklaces had a dual purpose. When these flat chains were removed at night, they could be used as a bookmark!

All my items are antique or vintage and therefore have had a previous life. Imperfections may exist and I do my best to disclose any that may be there.
