The Betty & Veronica Scarf, named after two infamous girls constantly vying for one man’s heart, will war with yours as well. Designed to showcase complementary handspun and thick-thin single ply yarns, this free pattern contains two versions of a ruched scarf knit lengthwise. Version one, The Betty, has a simple, clean ribbed edging, while version two, The Veronica, creates a more dramatic ruffled edging. Suitable for beginner and intermediate level knitters, it features easy to learn increasing and decreasing techniques and provides a great opportunity for by-the-pattern knitters to explore the creativity that comes with learning how to forge your own path.

The pattern is written out and contains sizing available for both scarf and neckwarmer lengths. Approximately 75–100 yards (69–91 meters) of the main color yarn and 40-85 yards (37–78 meters) of the contrast color yarn are needed in worsted, aran or bulky weights.

You may instantly download a .pdf version of this free pattern by clicking the link below, or to have a high-quality, full-page printed cardstock version shipped to you, simply add this listing to your cart. Because Etsy does not allow free listings, the .20 cent listing price is part of the total shipping cost, which has been reduced to reflect the difference. This item ships separately in a hard, rigid envelope to prevent damage in transit.

Frequently asked questions about LadyDanio

Many of the items I create are handmade at the time of purchase, and the time it takes to put your order together can be anywhere from 3 to 7 business days (10 calendar days).

Don't know when your order is due to ship? Select "Purchases and Reviews" under the drop-down menu in the right hand corner of your screen. There you will see your order and if you click on "Receipt" you'll see the estimated date your order is due to ship.

I'll do my best to meet these shipping estimates, but cannot guarantee them, especially during high ordering periods. Actual delivery time will depend on the shipping method you choose. See my shop policies for more details on shipping.
I'm happy to make free repairs to stitch markers that have fallen apart from being worked hard and well-loved. Just send me any damaged markers (don't forget the important pieces, like the beads because I'll need those!) and I'll restring, rehang, and make them as good as new. Then I'll send them back to you free of charge.
Miniskein sets are handmade at the time of your order. Multiple sets may be purchased - just message me if you'd like a larger quantity then what is currently available in the shop.

Pictures of the miniskein sets are a representation of what you could receive from my collection. For those miniskein lovers who'd like to see what some of the yarns they are purchasing look like, take a peek at the full skeins in my Mini Made Flickr photostream: www.flickr.com/photos/ladydanio/sets/72157628409098037/
Please note that my items come from a smoke-free, cat-friendly household. Though my cat does not play with my products (she is totally bored by the knitting process), be aware that a wisp of stray hair could make its way into your package.
I describe and photograph my products as accurately as possible using a Panasonic DMC-LX7 camera with a Leica macro lens in natural lighting.

Due to variations between monitors, your personal monitor settings, minor variations of daylight, color filters, or the uniqueness of the products themselves, the items you receive may vary slightly from the photos you see.
