These wonderful coffee servers are from the "old" Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC.

Rec'd from a friend who received them from a gentleman who served as a doorman there in the 1940s.

When I see these, I wonder what the waiters wore and what guests they might have served with these lovely pots. I feel fortunate to have inherited them.

The gentleman friend went on to work for CBS for many years and was very successful. He kept a few artifacts from the old Waldorf to mark his time there and these were among his choices.

As an aside to this: The gentleman's fellow doorman at the Waldorf was
Fred Hayman of Rodeo Drive fame. These two East Coast buddies made their way to California to make their fortunes.
