This is a hand pulled dry point etching depicting an Australian roof top scene typical of Melbourne's suburbs. Melbourne is full of lovely Victorian buildings. I've been wanting to draw them ever since I started printmaking about 6 years ago, but never found the chance. Recently I spent a day walking around Brunswick and sketched the buildings around me. These are the resulting etchings I made from this day's drawing.

Measurements -
image size 14.7 x 14.7cm (5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches)
paper size 19.5 x 26.5cm (7 5/8 x 10 1/2 inches)
edition size 16

It is printed on highest quality Hahnemuhle 100% cotton rag paper. The colour is added directly to the plate in a process known as a la poupee. Due to the hand made nature of printmaking each print may be slightly different.

I am a full time printmaker and I constantly sketch from life and use my drawings to create hand pulled prints. If you would like to see my work in person you can view it in a number of galleries around Melbourne and Victoria (see my website for details www.bridgetfarmer.blogspot.com) or if you live near Daylesford, you can arrange to visit my studio in the woods!
