A folk art style original painting of Henry David Thoreau on a weathered beach rock taken from the great beach of Cape Cod, where Thoreau visited and of which he wrote about in his book "Cape Cod". I painted the portrait directly on the stone in acrylic and then sealed over the entire stone. A great little inspirational trinket! I call anything I make from beach debris a "sea gift" in tribute to the George Shannon poem "Sea Gifts". 2x2.5 inches, approx. 1/2 inch thick.

Don't forget to check my shop too for all sorts of eccentric folk art, literary themed items, and more sea gifts!
