A set of traditonal metal vintage French cookie cutters in graduated sizes. Just like you would find in grandmère's kitchen. They have the traditional fluted edge to make the biscuits seen in bakeries all over France.

Do you know the meaning behind the word biscuit? In French it stands for twice cooked - bis is twice and cuit is cooked. Traditional French biscuits are cooked two to four times - this dates back to the Middle Ages!

The cutters (or emporte-pièces in French) range in size from 1 inch to 4 inch (diameter of the cutting edge). They are 1&1/2 inches tall and have smooth tops. They are quite solid and the complete set of 9 cutters weighs 300 grammes (around 1/2 pound)
