The other pair is hexagon shaped and are gold tone with white accents, the pattern is again the same on both sides. Both pairs are just over a half inch in diameter.

A little history:

Born during the early-1900s, snap-style cufflinks — or snaps, as they’re commonly called – fasten together via a small projection on one end – commonly called the “male” half – that is pressed and locked into a depression on the cufflink’s opposite half, the “female” end.

Snaps were all the rage from the early-1900s to the mid-1930s, an era of daringly dramatic designs, flamboyant fashions and an emphasis on modernism that included the Jazz Age, Roarin’ Twenties and Art Deco period. The most popular design motifs for early-1900 double-face snaps were inspired by these three, then pop cult design movements.
