Antique round metal check protector. I was told this was used long ago at the post office in San Francisco. It is labeled on the bottom Page Mfg Co. San Francisco, Pat Oct. 1, 1912. Paper is inserted between the bottom plate and top number levers. It leaves a perforated mark with each number or $ symbol. This piece is just amazing and still works beautifully! In excellent condition. Use as intended, in your art, etc. It measures 2 3/4 inches in diameter.
