A functional and wonderful tool! The textured black leather-look case holds a steel measuring tape embossed with great number markings. The tape is retracted by lifting the hinged handle on the side of the case and spinning the tape back inside. The handle then folds flush and snaps back into the case for storage.

Measures 3.25" in diameter by 3/4" tall, and the tape itself is 3/8" wide. Marked 'The Lufkin Rule Co., Saginaw, Mich. Made in U.S.A., 50 Ft., No 543'. It is actually a 49 foot tape, as the first foot seems to have been cut off, and the end clip is re-soldered to the tape, so it starts at the 2 foot mark. Everything does still seem to work great, and the tape goes in and out easily, although I did not unroll the entire tape to check! Good used vintage condition, with some wear and cracking on the leather cover.
