Antique Victorian Blue Willow China Teacup Trios - Blue & White Asian Oriental Transferware Porcelain Tea Party Cup Saucer Plate Trio Set

These beautiful antique 19th century transferware china teacups have timeless charm. Whimsical, delicate and dreamy, they look like they belong in the pages of Martha Stewart Living magazine. The romantic Asian-inspired Blue Willow pattern was designed by famed porcelain maker Thomas Minton around the year 1790, and it has been popular ever since. One could get lost in these storybook pieces: there are pagodas, trees, bridges, birds, and little human figures, all rendered in tiny detail.

The cups are charmingly designed: each one has a decorative lattice stripe around the inner rim, and the handles have a wonderfully ornamental and unusual round shape. They have no makers' marks (this is common for antique porcelain). They probably date to the mid- to late 1800s, and were probably produced by an English maker.

These special pieces would be wonderful for entertaining or just for enjoying as decorative objects. They would also make lovely gifts or wedding favors.

I have SIX of these "trios" in total; this listing is for ONE three-piece set (you get one cup, one saucer, and one small plate). Please contact me if you would like to purchase multiple sets; I would be happy to calculate the correct shipping and set up a special listing for you.

The beautiful blue and white embroidered linen tablecloth in the photos will also be available for sale, once I have a chance to list it. If you are interested and can't find it in the shop, send me a message and I will fill you in on the details!

The cups measure 2.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches wide across the mouth. Saucers are 5.25 inches across, and small plates are 7 inches across. One set (cup + saucer + small plate) weighs 432 grams.

These pieces are in excellent antique condition: I found no chips, cracks, stains, or significant crazing. Expect slight variations in color - the small plates are a little darker than the cups and saucers, and may be from a different set. The small plates also have an embossed ruffled texture around the edge, which the saucers do not. There may be some light surface wear, consistent with what my photos show.
