J is for jelly, jam, January, jolly, juniper, jump, July and so many others. But in this case, j is for Jay-bird. Or so says the little story on the backside...it reads....

This jay-bird lives in their plum tree. If you stand near enough, you can hear him jumping up from the branches to get a plum like this one. When he jumps, he makes a sound like this: "j-j-j-j." (The plum is always just above his head, and his tail hanging beneath the branch n which he sits.) Can you make the sound he makes?

K tells the story of Little Lady and Mr. Doughnut. Mr. Doughnut has a cough and Little Lady is teaching him some manners by offering her handkerchief for him to use when he coughs. Little Lady is all about being polite! Even when she's busy getting ready for school.

So cute!
