When I found these sling-backs in my mother's things I nearly swooned. These are the coolest, most unique shoes I've seen in a long time. And they're in terrific condition (new lifts have been added, in fact). From the early 1960s, they're a cross between a shoe and a sandal, are formal, but maybe not, work with any color, since they are close to flesh-tone, (kind of like a salmon color) and fit beautifully. The elastic at the base of the heel strap is fine and the insoles look brand new. The designer is Stanley Philipson (Made in U.S.A.).

I see the girls in the office in Mad Men wearing these to a cocktail party. Very sexy - well, they're see-through, right?

If there were any reason at all for me to keep these and wear them to some fancy function (or not), I would.

Heel: 3 inches at back
Length of insole: about 9 1/2 inches
Width across widest part of sole:a little over 3 1/2 inches
