A handmade, 1980s, 5.5" tall, carved wood fisherman with broken fishing line and surprised disappointed look on his face...probably because the big one got away. The bottom is stamped made in Quebec. In overall great condition with minimal wear.

This Wood Carving Falls In The Realm Of “Folk Art” and Is Desired By Many Collectors Of Quebec Folk Art.

The carving detail is exquisitely executed. Each piece of his art is individually hand carved to express passion and rural life in a naturalistic fashion. This old gentleman expresses his emotions and avocation in the facial detail that this artist has captured with loving care as he chipped away to reveal this figure. Quebec wood carvers’ creations are eagerly sought and in a few decades escalate greatly in value.
