This uplifting painting of the Bass Rock (an island off the East Coast of Scotland colonised by sea birds) was painted directly onto a block of wood with ink, acrylic and sea salt. (The sea salt has a subtle glitter that's quite attractive! It causes coloured ink to separate into unpredictable and interesting patterns, see detail for close up).

It was painted from a photograph I took, which is also available in my shop for those who prefer photography

This is one of my favourite beaches where I've enjoyed many fun days with friends and family, whether it's wild and rainy or, as in this picture, beautiful sunny weather. A lot of my personal love of North Berwick went into this painting, and this day in particular was one of the sunniest, windiest days I've ever experienced there! The seaspray was wild and the air was so refreshing and pure.

As an original this painting costs £60. Size 8x6 inches. (The original comes with attached picture hook and string).
It is also available as a 10x7 inch (approx) mounted print (printed on demand) at £25.00.

This artwork will be dispatched to you carefully, to ensure safe transit.
