This variegated sock yarn is inspired by Mark Rothko's 1953 painting Untitled (Purple, White, and Red). It is hand dyed with bright sections of beige, red and purple. The merino nylon base is a great combination of strength and softness, and would make a lovely lacy scarf, pair of socks, or mitts.

**NOTE: Some skeins are much brighter than others. Please let us know your preference for bright or muted by a convo. The default will be a lighter-colored skein.**

For another yarn inspired by Mark Rothko, try this... with coordinating earrings to boot!

Mr. Rothko's Flower Pot:
In homage to the beautiful spring weather, and mindful of Molly's crayon- loving palate, Murphy spent his latest allowance on a magnificent box of icky-tasting chalk. He and his sister had a wonderful time drawing flowers and bugs and birds all up and down the sidewalk...until a sudden rain shower gave their artistry a certain impressionistic, if not downright modern, air. When the sun re-emerged, they were amazed at the transformation of one of Molly's renderings into a perfect (although tiny) copy of a Rothko color block painting. Mr. Rothko may have lived in the center of New York city, but the dogs now know with certainty that he had flower pots on the fire escape outside his studio...and a very appreciative ruby- throated hummingbird.
