Another one of a kind FHF sun dress. This one features super soft blue, burgandy, and white indian cotton with a white cotton yoke. A-line shape is longer in back. More indian cotton is laced through the neck of the yoke, and it comes with a matching optional sash. Dress slips over head; unlined. Looks great with your favorite belt, too. Ready for an adventure....

A NOTE ABOUT CONDITION: it wasn't until I started measuring this piece that I noticed that the fabric I used was a little more distressed than I would have liked. There are a few small bits of paint, a couple tea colored stains, and two 3/8" mended holes (see last photo in which a couple flaws--one mended hole and the largest stain-- are circled). None of these little flaws are very noticeable at all--I would have never used the textile if they had been---and they do not detract from the garment's function or beauty, but they are worth a mention. Price has been adjusted accordingly.

About the materials: There are two things that I hoard unapologetically (well, more than two, but I digress...): vintage indian gauze and handworked crochet trims. The gauzes usually date from the 1970s and come to me in the form of a distressed, unwearable garment or textile. The crochet trims I like best are yokes and collars, usually dating from the 1900s-1920s and originally intended as the framework for camisoles, corset covers, and nightgowns. When I am lucky enough to unearth any of these treasures, I rush home to give them a bath and add them to my stash. I try to avoid using pieces that are heavily flawed, but in the case that I do, I will always note and picture any distress.

(Listing is for dress and sash only)

Fabric: cotton gauze with cotton yoke. Hand wash in cold water and air dry.

From shoulder to hem, it measures about 33" in front and about 36" in back. Optional sash is about 72" long. Shown modeled by a modern size 4.
