This is a completely handbuilt piece,not on the potter's wheel .A traditional japanese design for a spouted bowl.
the clay body is dark with rich iron inclusions which are bleeding in the blue gray glaze.


The pieces I made in Japan were done in functional pottery studios.
While my best guess is that the glazes are food safe I don't have a guarantee on this as I can't know for sure.
The other japanese students were drinking from their ware and selling tea cups and sushi plates at a pottery show.
