Need to cheat on your next chem test? Your prof will never guess that you've smuggled in Avogadro's Constant in with you!

The green beads in this bracelet each spell out one digit of the number, while the larger mother of pearl beads act as spacers between each digit. It's strung on memory wire, which is comfortable, secure, and easy to get on and off. It will fit every one a little differently; on my wrist it makes about one and a half turns around.

Avogadro’s Number is used in chemistry to calculate the molar mass of an element; it represents how many molecules there are of a chemical in one “mol.” While previously I've used "6.0221415 x 10 ^ 23" according to Google calculator and other sources, I've decided to standardize my constants and use CODATA values for everything. And the CODATA value for Avogadro's Constant is a little different:

6.02214129 x 10 ^ -23

So highly-regarded is the Avogadro Constant that people often celebrate “Mol Day” (October 23rd, or 10/23....get it?). When I make my chemistry jewelry, I omit the scientific notation, for the sake of aesthetics and my own sanity; what you see here is just 6.02214129. For more information on the numbers in my jewelry (and a handy visual cheat sheet!), please see this blog entry:
