This little Madagascan sapphire wanted a special display, so I used one of my melted ring settings for it. I make these designs from wax sheeting and added the beads so they could be used to set the stone. The last step is to pass them over a flame to give them that melted look.

The sapphire is totally untreated, not even heated (I had the lab check it). It has a rich raspberry pink (too pink to be called a ruby, but getting there) and in incandescent light (see last picture) it shifts to a slightly more purplish tone. It's about .6 carats.

The ring is a size 6 1/2. I can adjust it down a bit (It's tricky to re-align the back, so please ask me first). I can't make it bigger though, then I have to make a custom order. Sizing fees will be billed via paypal, and sizing takes about a week. Resizing is $5.00.

The casting is made from recycled anti-tarnish sterling silver and the ring is 15mm in the back and 10mm in the front. I used a dual finish for it, the band itself is sandblasted, but the "waves" and the edges and tips of the beads are shiny.

Sapphire is the birthstone of September.
