General Electric AM Radio Model 427 iPod Ready!

You will fall in love with super sexy deep red GE Radio! It has that stunning Mid-Century look with terrific style. This set features a very cool looking dial beam that lights up when the radio is turned on. You can see the lighted dial beam in the second picture. It has also been modified to allow you to play your iPod or MP3 player through it. Accented in gold, this fantastic beauty will turn heads. The shiny plastic case is in very nice condition with no cracks or chips. There are a few light surface scratches that are noticeable only on close inspection. All original knobs are present and functioning.

This radio has great tone and picks up many stations. This is an AM tube radio and will require a moment or two for the tubes to warm up.

Approximate dimensions are 13 1/2" x 6 1/4" x 5 7/8".

Chassis Restoration:

To insure years of safe reliable operation… Paper and wax capacitors replaced with modern polyfilm caps; Filter capacitors replaced; RF and IF sections aligned per manufacturers specifications; volume control and tuner parts cleaned and lubricated; all tubes tested and good.

IPod Input:

This radio has an added feature – you can plug your iPod, or other mp3 player, directly into the rear mounted jack. Then just flick the switch to listen to radio programming or your iPod music.

The iPod interface is designed and installed in such a way to have absolute minimum impact on the vintage design of this radio set. The iPod adaptor is located inside the radio and includes an input selector switch; signal mixing; and isolation for absolute safety. From the adaptor, only a couple of wires are used to carry the iPod signal into the vintage tube audio amplifier.

For safety reasons the original phono input jack has been disconnected as these will not work properly with modern accessories.

You’ll love the experience of hearing your favorite music through a vintage tube amplifier!

Dimensions: 12"wide, 5 1/2" deep, 6" high
