Tourmaline comes in a huge variety of colors and patterns, but one of the most popular is the classical 'watermelon' tourmaline. In the most technical sense, a true watermelon tourmaline has a rind of green around a core of rich red, a phenomenon which is seen in a surprising number of deposits. The term has, however, been somewhat expanded to include any combination of green and red/pink in a tourmaline. This stone shows the latter, with a pink base and tip sandwiching a green center, all in the beautiful, delicate hues which are typical of stones coming from Paprok, Afghanistan. Overall, it is a lovely crystal, with beautiful shaping and amazing crystal form. Were it larger it would be one of my prized pieces, but because of its size I've marked it low just to be sure it goes to a good home--no crystal this pretty should languish in a drawer. The crystal measures 5/8 inches (1.6 cm) in length, and weighs in at 1.2 carats.
The item will be mailed in a priority mail flat-rate box to buyers in the US. Canadian shipping is through US first class international mail. Other international shipping is through registered mail. The chain is not included.
