Famous for works by Turi Gramstad Oliver, Kari Nyquist, Gro Pedersen Claussen, Anne Lofthus and Inger Waage, Stavangerflint, along with Figgjo, produced some of the most sought after Norwegian ceramic work from the Mid Century. Like other purveyors of Scandinavian Modernist design aesthetics, Stavangerflint work tends to be a combination of whimsy and color. This particular piece, a ceramic plate which doubles as a wall hanging, is just that: a focused work of fun and pop. Flora and fauna are given an impressionist quality, witha decisively joyful bent to the illustration work. Produced in the early 60's, this piece features a hand painted image of Tonsberg, Norway. Measuring 7.5" by 7.5", this piece is in near mint condition. A perfect addition to any mid century Scandinavian collection!
