If I had to pick one surface to put on all my pots, this would be the one. Incredible depth that my pictures simply can't capture. Be sure to use the ZOOM feature on this piece to see the depth and beauty of the surface. This vase is a real knock-out! So much going on in the glazes that it's hard to know where to start describing it. This piece has been throw and altered, then while still green it's been covered with a very iron-rich slip, then bisque fired. It's then glazed very thickly with a very simple shino glaze composed mostly of feldspar. It was wood-fired for 56 hours, accumulating lots of natural ash glaze on the surface. The result is a stunning surface reminiscent of strange geological formations trapped under a thick layer of gem-like glass. A real shino collector's piece.

It measures 5.5"t x 5.5"w and is watertight.

Thanks for looking at my work :))
