This portable 45rpm record player is tiny! Made in the late sixties by Philco-Ford, it measures only 7.25" x 4.25" x 2.25". It operates on 4 C batteries (included.)

From what I understand, it is VERY RARE.
Model S-1369 Serial #04395

From what I understand (at the mercy of a google search) Philco-Ford introduced these in 1967 in an attempt to make music more portable. It worked especially well with their "hip pocket" records, which were smaller, more durable versions of 45's. If you don't have any "hip pocket" records, I have the original 45 adapter, which I'd assume is even more rare.

Powers on with 4 "C" batteries and the turntable spins, so I'm assuming that means it works. However, I do not have any records to test it with. I am selling it as-is, so please ask if you have any questions. If you'd like to see additional pictures, I can probably take a couple more for you.

I'm including one photo of the inside for you to inspect. It appears to be in excellent condition, but I don't know a single thing about vintage electronic-guts! The batteries are new, but they're the super cheap kind so I don't know how good they are. The previous owner used electrical tape to secure the batteries in place, but I'm not sure why. The bottom is very secure by itself and actually requires a screwdriver to open (once it's shut tightly enough.) There's a slight hum (from the speakers, maybe?) once it starts up, and it got slightly louder after being on for a few seconds, but the turntable seemed to go at a steady speed. That's all I can think to tell you about it.

Before listing each item, I search online for information and price comparisons. I try to have the lowest prices on everything I have for sale so that it won't pile up around here. I'm assuming these pocket sized record players are extremely rare, because I couldn't find one for sale anywhere! I found a site which had archived two ebay auctions, and both times this item sold for more than $100. Wow!! I'm not making that up; go ahead and google it if you'd like, and if you find a current auction or sale, please send me a link to it. I'd appreciate that! (And if this sells, for the record, I listed it at $40.)

Please ask if you have any questions, and see my shop policies for detailed information on shipping & payment methods. Thank you!
