Inspired by the Hiden Senbatsuru Orikata, the first origami text in existence detailing the art of folding conjoined multiple origami cranes.

The bond between this mother/father crane bird and her/his children is special, since they are all folded from a single sheet of paper (i.e. not stuck together at the wings by glue or other fixatives). Conjoined origami folding is a special skill requiring special care, as paper (being paper) rips easily and makes manipulation of the paper tricky. For some idea of scale, mother/father bird's wingspan is about 5.8cm / 2.28 inches long.

Folded from limited edition paper by Felissimo Japan and comes stored in a box featuring yellow and orange gingko leaves, lined with card for sturdiness.

The model I folded in the 4th/ last picture is one I folded in the past, an example of my most complex work featuring conjoined cranes.

Not a toy for children due the small size of the model and the fragile nature of paper.

Made in non-smoking home.
