Add pizzazz to your table with this stunning serving bowl. Truly a one of a kind piece of handmade, stoneware pottery. Use it on your patio for a table top bird bath, on your kitchen counter with fruit, or at your next dinner party to serve your world famous side dish or salad.

I threw both the bowl and pedestal on a pottery wheel out of white stoneware. While it was still fairly wet, I altered the rim of the bowl to create the ruffled edge and joined the two pieces together. After it was bisque fired, I glazed the bowl using a food safe glaze. The bowl was fired in an electric kiln to 2269 F (cone 6).

9" wide x 7 1/4" tall
weighs 3 lbs.

Frequently asked questions about muddywaterscc

I don't mind making custom items but, I want customers to be aware of time frames needed to make custom items, so they are not frustrated by how long it takes. It generally takes around 6-8 weeks from when I begin an item until it is finished. There are many steps and processes that go into making a piece of pottery.
Making the item takes a few days, between throwing on the wheel or hand building, to trimming, to assembly, to drying times.
Making enough items to fill the kiln takes at least four weeks.
Each item is glazed. The glaze for most of my work is brushed on, at least three coats. This takes several weeks.
Finally, the glaze kiln load is run to make the finish permanent.
Hand wash with warm soapy water for best results.
Items that are meant to be used every day, like coffee mugs, can be washed in the dishwasher as long as there is adequate space around them so they are not banging against other items in the dishwasher.
Raku items should be hand washed only. They should not be left outside or near windows where they will be exposed to the sun, as sun exposure may change their coloring or finish.
Pottery is breakable, so treat it gently and do not drop it, or it is likely to break.
My highest priority is ensuring that your item arrives safely. I wrap all items in bubble wrap, and place them in shipping peanuts.
If you would like an item wrapped in tissue paper over the bubble wrap, I am happy to do this if you ask me.
I'm also happy to add a personalized note from you if it is a gift. Just send me a convo letting me know what you want to say.
Please contact me. If we cannot resolve the problem, return the item for a full refund. Please ship back in the original packaging, or equivalent, to ensure safe return.
