This listing is for a large vintage copper colander, made by Benjamin & Medwin, New York, NY. The colander has a rich patina look, and is heavy, not flimsy or "tinny".

The handles - brass, the exterior - copper, the interior - metal of unknown type, but has a pewter gray look. The handles are firmly fastened with rivets to the body of the colander. The footed base is a triple layer pedestal style. A sticker is stamped "Benjamin & Medwin, Inc. New York, NY 10001". There are no other markings to be seen.

The diameter of the colander is 11.75 inches wide, from edge to edge of the handle it is 14 inches wide. It stands 7 inches tall on a tabletop. Other than the aged and darkness of some of the finish, there are no dents or defects.

Hang it in the kitchen for a great farmhouse-look addition or put it to use with pasta. Either way, it's a nice kitchen collectible piece.
